My sincere condolences to two of the brothers from church, Sang Yoon and Jared Branahl, for their permanent loss of singlehood. It was a busy weekend filled with lots of events. thanks giving dinner with the only relative family from OH, midnight madness in Aurora, painting, and the shortest YET the longest wedding i've ever participated in... Thanks giving dinner was pretty nice, even though it could've been much better if my lady and her family would've joined us...next time....actually cooked a whole turkey at my house...i never knew how NASTY the turkey skin looks and feels.....freakin gross! but it tasted aite. my cousins bought the wrong cranberry sauce and it actually had cranberry chunks in them....was very interesting.... I definitely missed K's, aka diva K, cornbread b/c I didn't exactly know how to make it. But I found an equally yummy cornbread at the gf's house made by the gf herself!!! (tears of pride).... "attempted" to play football in the backyard with 2 female cousins and 1 10 year-old boy cousin....and let me just say, we didn't get to play much......man, when I have a daughter, i'm gonna teach her some basics of sports....don't get me wrong, i'm not saying I want to raise a butch but just more well-rounded lady. Someone told me one that it's the new hottest look for girls to be wearing sports jerseys....but let me tell you, it don't matter if you're jessica alba or jessica biel (btw why are jessicas so hot??), if a girl starts ducking while screaming "help!!!!!!~" with her high pitched voice, there's nothing more disappointing and unattractive. I'll speak for my fellow brothas out there, we find it so attractive when we see a girl who can get down and dirty with the guys. This isn't just about enjoyment for the guys, it's about coming up with different ways to enjoy one another. ok, that was a rabbit trail.... Midnight MADNESS. Two words for those of you thinking about hittin it up next year. DON'T GO!!!!. I got there around 11pm b/c the gf's sister had to work from 11-3am. When we arrived, there was absolutely NOBODY. I-88 was empty, the parking lot was empty.....since the stores don't open until 12, we decided to take a nap for 45 mins. When we woke up, I tell you, i thought I just landed in hell.....the whole world of people were walking around the mall with them crazy, bloodshot eyeballs searching for the deals, like they gonna kill anything that gets in their ways.....and the sky was brighter from all the headlights on the highway near by, trying to get off of the I-88 to get into the mall....and when we got inside the mall, there were lines formed for miles....right then and there, I knew it was gonna be a looooong night. Skipping the most frustrating part about the night, I only ended up getting something for my mother and nothing else....only good thing was seeing some of the old faces I haven't seen in 12 years.
Painting was pretty fun. I got to learn how to use the edger and about the primer and all whole 9 yard. painting is sorta stressful, cramped up in this tiny bathroom getting high off of paint.... but it was well worth it to see the final product and how much change it brought to the whole house...maybe that's how we are to our Father. he takes pride and satisfaction from the transformation of His creations....from old to new...into His image... Now the wedding....it was very blessing to see sang and susan tying the knot.....in the words of his own father....FINALLY!. I was very sad I couldn't witness Jared and Amy's big day. Congrats to the Branahls and God bless you!! Sang's wedding was def. the one to remember. First it was the shortest wedding ceremony and reception ever...they (actually more like just sang) brought alot of unprecedented-ness to a wedding...the biggest being the "no dancing at the reception and their 30 sec. first dance. hahahha). but it was such a beautiful and blessing time of worship in the witnesses of many believers and unbelievers....i'm certain that our God was honored and lifted high. On the contrary, it was the longest wedding for me b/c I was their chauffeur for the entire day....I absolutely love this brother and I signed up for this duty but I gotta say, i wasn't an easy task....and trust me, it wasn't the long hours in the car....nonetheless, I had a wonderful time....pimpin in "my" white H2 with my white gloves....people were starring at my ride complemented by the hot driver inside . im jk. The highlight of the evening was my encounter with the photographer they hired, named Christina. I think I talked about her so much that my gf is getting jealous now . but let me tell you, this photographer was so down to earth, flexible, and personable.....during the 4 hours of our ride together, we just talked about all sorts of stuff and she also shared alot about her life with us...like we're her close friends or something! in a way, i was almost depressed to realize how long and difficult it is sometimes to have heartfelt conversations with some of the closer ppl in my life, esp. the brothers and sisters from church. I know I haven't seen any of her work yet but watching her style, taste, and choice of places to shoot, I'm confident that she's got the talent....maybe even for my own special day. anyways, now the picture time...some long overdue but mostly from the wedding.
